Saber Force: The Lightsaber

Sci-Fi fans know one weapon to be supremely cool: the lightsaber. Jedi use this blade of plasma energy while Sith wields it against them.

These weapons are powered by Kyber Crystals aligned to the Force that requires Jedi or Sith to use to craft them. Their hilt contains everything that makes their Saber Force products lightsaber work properly.

Blade

Saber Force products lightsaber is a blade made of plasma suspended in a force containment field, used by its wielder to cut or burn enemies or slice through the unprotected flesh of living beings with one swift swing. To wield such an effective weapon requires immense talent, connection with the Force, and considerable physical energy.

Saber Force productsKyber crystals provide their primary power source, attuning themselves to the Force and producing a glowing plasma blade through an unknown process called “bleeding.” Depending on which type of kyber is chosen for this process (Jedi knights can access green or blue crystals while Sith lords have access to read and synthetic ones), its colour depends on whether it comes from natural or synthetic sources.

Rarer than usual hilts feature black blades known as shoto blades with clawed emitters that resemble the Black Lotus flower pedals, commonly used by Sith warriors skilled in Jar-Kai combat forms.

There are various lengths of blades, ranging from short to long. Shorter blades allow quick strikes against an enemy defence system, while longer ones have a greater reach for slashing and stabbing attacks. No matter their length, all blades are extremely durable and can deflect blaster bolts without being breached completely.

Hilt

The hilt of a lightsaber houses its inner workings, such as the blade emitter, activator switch and power source. A hilt can be made from almost any material, including metal alloys, wood or gems; users often customise its aesthetic appearance to reflect their style or ideology.

Initial hilts were cumbersome and required a separate backpack-mounted power pack to operate. They later transitioned into weapons with only belt-mounted packs needed and eventually became fully self-contained weapons as we know them today.

Saber Force products lightsaber’s blade is created through the interaction of energy from its wielder’s body with Kyber crystals contained within the pommel of its hilt and Kyber crystals known as Kyber Shards in its pommel, producing an energy blade which can then be activated using its activator switch. Jedi and Sith can use “bending the Force” to connect their crystal – thus giving each lightsaber its unique feel reflecting its wielder’s personality.

Controls

From its debut in 1977, the lightsaber has become one of the most recognisable weapons in pop culture. Although many other franchises have tried to copy it, nothing compares with its elegance in Jedi hands. It consists of a polished metallic handle about one meter long with control studs lining its length. When activated via button press, it releases an energy shaft up to one meter long, vibrating and scintillating in sync with sound; once handled by trained Jedi, it can cut through almost anything!

Please use your controller to activate and switch between blade light effects by pressing and holding either of the primary buttons, then the secondary buttons (secondary button on the controller for some models) – also, you can change background music by long pressing the main button – a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery powers the saber; for optimal operation, it should not be dismantled beyond what is necessary as doing so could potentially damage its electronics inside.

Power

Few weapons from outer space have captured our collective imagination, like the iconic lightsaber from Star Wars. Representing good and evil, light and darkness, its iconic form is a blade made of pure plasma energy with an instantly recognisable glow emitted by its handle hilt that emits an instantly identifiable glow emitted by its grip, yet powerful enough to cut through almost anything with ease.

Although a lightsaber can cut through most materials, it’s not invincible. Neuranium and Ultrachrome materials can obstruct its path; they can be deflected by shields or destroyed by another lightsaber.

Recent electric vehicle battery research has allowed scientists to design a power source small enough to include inside a lightsaber’s hilt to handle its large energy demands when activated.

Diatium power cells located within the hilt provide energy that drives its blade. A power field conductor and vortex ring help direct energy towards a crystal power chamber for crystal storage; according to Star Wars canon, Kyber crystal amplifies this energy into a strong enough blade capable of cutting through almost everything.
